Mr. Sanjay Kumar is from UP. He has a govt service in Railways, Jaunpur.
He had spectacle power of -20 D and also started developing Cataracts.
He was almost blind without his glasses and with glasses, he managed to see 6/60 only.
Usually, an ICL surgery is preferred for correction of such high powers, but Mr. Sanjay also showed signs of early cataracts.
In such cases, where LASIK and ICL surgery is not possible, RLE surgery can be an alternative option for specs removal.
RLE stands for Refractive Lens Exchange and it is also called CLE (Clear Lens Extraction).
In this surgery, the natural lens of the eye is replaced with a clear artificial lens (IOL-Intra Ocular Lens).
