Eye (Cornea) Transplant Surgery | Penetrating Keratoplasty surgery for Macular Corneal Dystrophy
In this video, Dr. Rahil Chaudhary explains about a Genetic Cornea Problem named "Macular Corneal Dystrophy" which makes the cornea cloudy. In such cases, the cloudy cornea has to be replaced with a donated cornea (received from a donor's eye). He also explains about Corneal Transplant Procedure.

About the Patient:
Mr. Irshad (30) is from Singauli, Madhya Pradesh.
Mr. Irshad's eyes are suffering from a Genetic Cornea Problem named Macular Corneal Dystrophy which makes the cornea cloudy.
He underwent a corneal transplant treatment for his right eye in 2006 at AIIMS Hospital-Delhi. Unfortunately, the transplanted cornea was rejected by his eye. So, his right eye needs to be operated on again in the future.
But in this video, we are showing his left eye's corneal transplant surgery.
We are happy that the patient's vision has improved from 6/60 to 6/18 and it will get better after healing.
