Prolotherapy causes temporary inflammation
We're often asked how Prolotherapy works. Because the body heals through the inflammatory process, Prolotherapy triggers the same cascade to bring nutrients to the areas of cellular deficiency. This causes a localized, temporary inflammation in the degenerated area with the ultimate goal being that the body will lay down new cells that create normal tendon and ligament tissue that is stronger and more resilient than the old, degenerated tissue (tendonosis/ligamentosis).
