Hamsters for Kids |
Hamsters have the ability to to conserve energy during really cold temperatures. It's called torpor, and it's somewhat like a mini hibernation. It allows them to endure harsh weather conditions and get back to living life when their environment warms up a little. Another interesting trait of hamsters is their teeth. Their teeth grow continuously throughout their lives. Chewing on various things is what helps keep those teeth from getting too long.
