How To Revert Back To Old Google Chrome Desktop Design Layout [Guide]
Google Chrome, one of the most popular web browsers, underwent a significant redesign known as “Material You” a few months ago. While some users embraced the changes, others found them unappealing and disruptive to their browsing experience. Google recently rolled out an update to give it a new and refreshed look for desktop platforms.
1. Open a new tab in your Chrome browser and type the following in the address bar: chrome://flags will take you directly to the Chrome Flags menu and highlight the option called Chrome Refresh 2023.
2. Once on the Chrome Flags page, locate the Chrome Refresh 2023 option. From the drop-down menu next to it, select Disabled.
3. After setting Chrome Refresh 2023 to Disabled, scroll down to the bottom of the Flags page and click the Relaunch button. This will close and reopen your Chrome browser.

The new Chrome UI is known by various names. Google officially refers it as Visual Refresh 2023. If we search using Chrome Flags page, we find a few other names such as Chrome Refresh 2023. WebUI Refresh 2023 and CR 2023.
Google was working on this design overhaul or redesigned theme for Chrome web browser since a few months. The new UI was being developed using the new Google Material You 3 design language. This new UI was available for testing in Beta/Canary editions of Chrome.
