Sabayon basically aims to be a beginner-friendly Linux distribution based on Gentoo, one of the (if not the) least beginner-friendly Linux distributions around.
Gentoo's installation is generally not recommended for beginners because its package management system requires users to compile source code to install packages (most distributions rely on precompiled binaries). Compiling larger programs and the base operating system can take several hours. Sabayon is considered easier to install than "pure Gentoo" because it uses both the Portage package management system and its own Entropy package management, which allows the user the option of using precompiled binary files during installation
