Friday's shooting at Joppatowne High School and Wednesday's mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia is reigniting the debate over gun laws. Navian Scarlett lives in Frederick but has been to Annapolis dozens of times telling lawmakers the concerns students have about gun violence. Scarlett is a gun violence survivor and she has turned her trauma into advocacy. She said two shootings involving school events during her four years at Frederick High School did have an impact.
