Video transcript:

What is an IP address? An IP or Internet Protocol address is a unique identifier assigned to each device connected to the internet. It serves two main purposes: to identify your device, so the website can send you any information, or to see your geolocation for dynamic content.

IPs come in two formats: IPv4 and IPv6. They consist of sets of numbers separated by periods or columns.

To change your IP, we have a few options. Use proxies that act as intermediaries between your device and the internet. Give a shot to a VPN that reroutes your connection via their servers. Restarting a Wi-Fi router can sometimes give a new IP from your internet service provider. Or, if you're using a mobile device, switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
