Life sometimes presents us with difficult choices. Such was the case on Friday, Sept 27. The Symphonic Harmony concert at Second Presbyterian Church, featuring the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Artina McCain, and Leo Davis, and the Meeting of the Masses concert, featuring the Tennessee Mass Choir, Chicago Mass Choir, and the Mississippi Mass Choir, at New Salem Baptist Church, were at the same time. The symphony concert featured the piece, Exalting Majesty: Hymns of Faith and Praise. It was commissioned by Dr. Leo Davis. Joseph Joubert was the composer and arranger. The work was a blend of the hymns, To God Be The Glory, How Great Thou Art, Crown Him With Many Crowns, It Is Well With My Soul, and In Christ Alone. It was wonderful! The skills of Artina McCain and Leo Davis were phenomenal and the masterful conducting of the orchestra by Kyle Dickson was magnificent. I did make it to the other concert that night but I'll have to share that later. Enjoy!
