Foot Bones Anatomy

1. Tarsal Bones
Calcaneus: The largest bone of the foot, forming the heel.
Talus: Sits above the calcaneus and forms the lower part of the ankle joint.
Navicular: Located in front of the talus.
Cuboid: Situated on the foot's outer side, in front of the calcaneus.
Cuneiform Bones:
Medial Cuneiform: Located towards the inner side of the foot.
Intermediate Cuneiform: Positioned between the medial and lateral cuneiform bones.
Lateral Cuneiform: Located towards the foot's outer side.

2. Metatarsal Bones
Five long bones, numbered from 1 to 5, starting from the big toe to the little toe:
First Metatarsal: Supports the big toe.
Second Metatarsal.
Third Metatarsal.
Fourth Metatarsal.
Fifth Metatarsal: Supports the little toe.

3. Phalanges (Toe Bones)
Proximal Phalanges: The bones closest to the metatarsals.
Big Toe (Hallux): Has only one proximal phalanx.
Other Toes: Each has a proximal phalanx.
Intermediate Phalanges: Middle bones, not present in the big toe.
Other Toes: Each has an intermediate phalanx.
Distal Phalanges: The bones at the tip of the toes.
Big Toe (Hallux): Has only one distal phalanx.
Other Toes: Each has a distal phalanx.

4. Joints
Ankle Joint: Formed by the talus, tibia, and fibula.
Subtalar Joint: Between the talus and calcaneus.
Transverse Tarsal Joint: Between the tarsal bones.
Tarsometatarsal Joints: Between the tarsal and metatarsal bones.
Metatarsophalangeal Joints: Between the metatarsals and proximal phalanges.
Interphalangeal Joints: Between the phalanges (proximal and distal, or proximal, intermediate, and distal).
