This video gives a quick insight into some of the uses for master faders in Pro Tools. Masters are a useful way of monitoring and controlling output levels of a mix but they also have a number of other uses. Master faders can be used to provide overall level control for a submix of tracks such as drums or they can be used to trim the level of a bus or send. This can useful when you want to bring an entire headphone mix up or down in level without having to adjust the individual sends or if the total level going to a particular bus or effects auxiliary is clipping.
