MBR and GPT are two popular partitions styles on Windows-based computers. The partition style tells Windows how to access the data on the current disk and is decided when during the initialization of a disk.
MBR
1. MBR supports maximum usable storage of 2TB
2. On an MBR disk, you can create a maximum of four primary partitions
3. The MBR disks use legacy BIOS boot mode
GPT
1. GPT supports any storage that is available (be it smaller or larger than 2TB)
2. Theoretically, you can create unlimited partitions on a GPT disk.
3. GPT disks use UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) boot mode
