TSA agent arrested for stealing $5,000 from passenger
A TSA agent stole $5,000 from a Bangladeshi man going through airport security at JFK on Wednesday evening.
Security cameras caught Alexandra Schmid, 31, removing money from a jacket belonging to a Bangladeshi national as it moved down the conveyor belt into the security scanner. Schmid tied the money up in a plastic glove and took it to the restroom. She has been arrested and charged with grand larceny. The money has yet to be found, leading investigators to suspect an accomplice.
