Chancellor's Distinguished Lecture Series - Professor Sir Ian Diamond
In her new role Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock hosted her first Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture and welcomed Professor Sir Ian Diamond to address ‘The role of a national statistical institute in responding to a national crisis’.
Professor Sir Ian is the UK’s National Statistician and was the chair of the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) from August 2018 to August 2019. He was knighted in 2013 for his services to social science and higher education and was the Principal and Vice Chancellor of the University of Aberdeen until 31 July 2018.
