In this video I make bannock for the first time after a quick walk in the woods with my family & a couple friends. You will see two ways of making bannock - on a stick and in a cast iron pan over the coals. See at the end how it all turned out. Tips and pointers are always appreciated. Thanks for watching.

The Base Bannock Recipe that I Made For Each Batch:
1 cup white flour
3 tsp powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar
1 tbsp powdered milk
3 tbsp butter

Dump all the dry ingredients in to a large Ziploc bag. Add your butter and separate it into small, almost granular pieces using a pastry cutter. If you don't have one, you can use two butter knives in a repetitive cris-crossing motion.

This mixing process would probably be best done in a large bowl. I did not feel that I broke up the butter to the proper consistency in the bag. This may have had something to do with the consistency of the bannock dough I ended up with.

From this I added some extras to each - about a tesaspoon of cinnamon and a little more sugar to one, some garlic powder, dried basil and parmesan cheese to the other.
