Interloper Discussion | How To Survive The Long Dark
Surviving in Interloper is no easy task, and frankly, there's not a whole lot of good discussion out there that covers this topic in terms of playstyle tuning and the items to watch out for. When it comes to The Long Dark, Interloper changes the entire set of variables around things like weather, loot, and wildlife, making for the most daunting mode available.
Primary concerns in Interloper include, but aren't limited to, deadly wolves, highly variable and inclement weather, high decay rates, and sparsely located loot. What loot there is, will be of low tier status and items like the revolver and rifle don't even spawn. No knives or hatchets spawn either, making it necessary to do a forge run if long term survival is to be obtained.
Moving forward from the early-game to the mid-game takes a long time and a lot of dedication, but it is possible. With this guide, I hope to discuss the issues that should be at the forefront of your mind as you progress in Interloper.
