In this video, Joshua Casper reviews the main features of Sonnox's new VST Plugin effects VoxDoubler; Thicken & Widen. This download comes with two separate plugins that use different techniques of doubling a vocal signal.
At the end of the video, Joshua will demonstrate a real-world use case for these plugins in a short tutorial on doubling the vocals of a track.
VoxDoubler Widen generates two new mono voices and pans the the the left and right of the original vocals, increasing the stereo image.
The width controls how far apart these new voices are in the stereo image. At 0% both new voices are centrally panned; 100% they are panned hard left and right.
Mix control how loud the new voices are.
Aux mode mutes the original vocals, allowing you to effect just the new voices.
Timing and pitch | low settings closely match the original while high settings give natural variations.
Depth delays and softens the new voices pushing them deeper in the mix. Usefull if they are overpowering the original.
Vox Doubler Thicken generates one new stereo voice and overlaps it witht the original.
Stereo spread adjusts the panning of the new voice's left and right channels. -100% they are inverted.
