"DVP" (Insane Demon) by sprei | Geometry Dash 2.11
Arb showed me this level a few days ago, and since he was planning to beat it, we had to showcase it on the channel. It's barely got over 100 downloads in-game and 100 views on YouTube as of writing. I think it deserves a lot more. It reminds me of something like Kidsmoke, not because they're necessarily similar in theme, but because of how well they capture their songs.
Lots of designs, decorations, and backgrounds in this consist of custom-made stuff, and they're all done in a rough style. They also move and pulse to the song. This matches the song very well. The best example is probably the block design at 0:16. Using mostly black and white throughout the level also fits the song choice, but I like how there's some purple and green mixed in at 0:29. It's not incidental that this is done for the most chill part of the song. 0:41 does reuse pretty much the same block design as earlier, but it uses even bigger lines and moves even more now, and it also goes into the background, so I'd say it's a good choice despite repeating.
In terms of gameplay, this isn't something for me to judge as it's very hard. Arb said it's in between an Insane and Extreme Demon, and it may be the latter. We will see what people think once more play it, which I hope happens. This definitely deserves that in my opinion. It's a very unique level visually that we don't see too often, especially not executed this well in my opinion. I can certainly see why this wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, and I'm sure it won't be. Still, I hope you find some qualities here regardless. Arb also thought it was quite fun and consistent to play, despite requiring a lot of fast clicks. If the replacement song is good, as this is not a Newgrounds song, is good, I think this definitely deserves a Feature.
