The technical landscape of Winna’s world means she can throw a stone in any direction and hit something that she knows nothing about. And that’s ok. Winna is part of a multidisciplinary team that collectively has deep knowledge about many things, and that collective knowledge means they can go forward with confidence even though they don’t all know everything. But sometimes Winna bumps against a concept, and doesn’t want to let it go, she feels compelled to learn more. In this talk, Winna will share highlights of what she learned when she decided to go deep into building a system that has dependencies on third-party container images. And she’ll share the value in occasionally taking time to learn a lot about something, even when it’s not required.
