Back in 2022, the first pilot project was opened in Finland - Thermal Accumulator, which has 100 kW of thermal power and 8 MWh of energy intensity. It is a steel cylinder four meters wide and seven meters high. The container contains 100 tons of low-grade construction sand, which was heated to 600ºC using green electricity received from solar panels in the warm season.
