The Long Dark: Tools | How To Survive The Long Dark
The Long Dark has lots of tools available for you to use, but sometimes you may be a little confused about how to use them or which one is the best to use. When it comes to surviving The Long Dark, information is key! While there isn't always a 'best' fit or 'one size fits all' solution, as that can be very dependent upon how you play and what pros and cons you weigh, knowing about the differences in tools and what can be used in which scenario can be very useful when it comes time to plan out your day or how to accomplish your goals. For example, both the hatchet and the hacksaw can be used to get firewood off of fallen limbs. The hatchet does it faster, but once you're out of whetstones you'll not be able to sharpen it and it will eventually break. Whereas with the hacksaw, you can always repair it with some simple or quality tools (we'll discuss those in a future video) and some scrap metal, which is quite ubiquitous in the world of The Long Dark!
Surviving in The Long Dark may seem like a daunting task, but once you are armed with lots of knowledge and information to couple with your preferred playstyle, you'll be surviving like a pro in no time!
