Can you schedule a text on iPhone? While the Messages app does not currently have a message scheduling option built in, there is a workaround using the Shortcuts app that will allow you to schedule a text message or iMessage to be sent at a later time. If you don’t have the Shortcuts app you can download it for free from the app store.
To schedule a message on iPhone, open the Shortcuts app. At the bottom, tap Automation. Then select Create Personal Automation. Tap Time of Day. Then choose the time you want your message to be sent. You can choose daily, weekly or monthly for the repeat options. If you only want to schedule this message once, I’d suggest picking the monthly option so you can select a date for the message to be sent, and just delete the automation later once your message has been sent. Tap Next. Now select Send Message. Tap Next. Tap Message and type in what you’d like your message to say. Then tap Recipients, and select the contact you want this message to be sent to. When you’re finished, tap Done in the top right corner. If you want to ensure the message isn’t sent without your awareness, switch on the Ask Before Running option. When the scheduled time rolls around, you’ll simply tap the notification and select Run to send it off. If you leave Ask Before Running switched off, your message will be sent automatically at the scheduled time.
Once you’ve used the automation to send your message, you can delete the automation from the Shortcuts app. This workaround can seem a bit complex at first but it’s very helpful for scheduling messages.
