How to Lower Volume in Premiere Pro

Let me show you how to reduce the volume of a video clip in Adobe Premiere Pro.

I have a clip here that’s a bit too loud.

To decrease the volume, right-click on the audio clip to see Audio Gain.

From there, click on the 0 dB next to Adjust Gain By and set it to a negative value. I'm going to set mine to negative 5, but feel free to choose any value that suits your needs. Once you're done, hit OK.

Another way is to lower it using the line in the audio wave form. You can just drag this line up and down to lower the volume. Keep an eye on the audio meter to make sure you are not in the red.

And that's it! Now, when you play your video back, the volume will be at a level that you're happy with.
