How to Delete Threads Without Deleting Instagram

There are a few different ways you can get away from Threads without deleting your Instagram account. The first option is to switch your profile to private. This way, your posts will not be publicly visible. To switch your Threads account to private, open the app and go to your profile. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner. Select Privacy. Then tap the switch labeled Private Profile to switch your account to private. Then tap OK. With this enabled, only your approved followers will be able to see your profile. If you have anyone following you who you don’t want to be able to see your posts, look through your list of followers to find someone you want to remove. Tap their name to go to their profile. Tap the three dots in the top right corner. Then select Remove Follower to take them off of your follower list.
Another option is to delete your posts but not your account. To delete a post on Threads, open the app and go to your profile. Then find a post you want to delete. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the post. In the menu that appears, tap Delete. Tap Delete in the pop-up to confirm. Repeat these steps to delete all of your posts.
The last option if you don’t want to use Threads at all but still want to keep your Instagram account is to deactivate your profile. To do this, tap the menu icon in the top right corner of your Threads profile. Then select Account. Tap Deactivate Profile. At the bottom, tap Deactivate Threads Profile. To confirm, tap Deactivate. Your Threads profile won’t be deleted permanently, but it won’t be visible to anyone and all your content will be hidden. You can reactivate your account by logging back in. Unfortunately the only way to permanently delete your threads account and all your data is to delete your connected Instagram account.
