The story of the game:
Atomic Heart takes place on the territory of “Enterprise 3826”, the main research center of the Soviet Union in the alternative in 1955.
In 1936, the scientist Dmitry Sechenov was developing a liquid programmable module called Polymer, causing a huge technological breakthrough in the field of energy and robotics in the USSR and freeing most of the population from manual labor. When the Second World War begins, the Soviet Union quickly wins, but in 1942 Nazi Germany, shortly before its defeat, releases the brown plague virus, as a result of which millions of people die and there is international demand for Soviet robots, designed to compensate for the shortage of workers hands. Within the framework of the post -war recovery of the USSR, Sechenov creates a wireless, network artificial intelligence called “collective 1.0”, which combines its robots to increase their effectiveness.
The last achievement of Sechenov is the development of the “thought” neuronnex - a device that integrates the polymer into the human body and allows people to remotely interact with robots. “Thought” should be launched along with the “team 2.0”, and according to Sechenov, this project will become the beginning of the era of the post-working society around the world. However, on June 13, 1955, the official launch of the “collective 2.0” was unsuccessful, as a result of which “enterprise 3826” is immersed in chaos.
