EVE ONLINE - Alpha Bob's Hacking Tips #1 - Rule of 6
A walkthrough of the "Rule of 6" for the hacking minigame.
When exploring NULL and wormhole space, hacking Relic and Data Sites can make enough ISK to Plex your alpha account to omega. So it's important to have every advantage to quickly complete these hacks with a high rate of success.
This will be a series of videos/tutorials to help guide you through the hacking minigame.
HACKING TIPS:
1) Click all spots adjacent to the start
(this can point you in a direction, ie. if you get "2" and "3" start in the direction of the "2")
2) Aim towards the far side of start
(Learn the Rule of 8)
3) Don't click on "data cache" spots early
(Only use the "white" spots when you are stuck)
4) Watch the "number" spots
(the numbers will help point the direction)
5) Get rid of suppressors and spiders fast
(there are times to save them)
6) Prioritize the "Rule of 6" spots
(Learn the Rule of 6)
7) Know exactly how much damage a spot will do
(only start hacking a "damage" spot if you can complete it)
8) Know which tool is best to use:
Self Repair (wrench): use this right away
Kernel Rot (keypad): best against the "Antivirus" 50/40 (no damage for virus strength of 25)
Polymorphic Shield (shield): good for "Firewall" and "Antivirus".
Secondary Vector (angle): save this for the "Virus Suppressor"
