Learn how to create a captivating typing effect into a black background overlay, just like Ali Abdaal does in Premiere Pro. Begin by generating a new black video clip and positioning it above your main video in the timeline. Adjust the opacity of the black video to 95% using the effect controls panel for a subtle overlay effect.
Next, apply a dissolve transition to the black video by searching for the "dissolve" effect in the effects panel and dragging the film dissolve effect to both the beginning and end of the black video clip. Double-click on each transition to set the duration to 5 frames for a smooth transition effect. Additionally, create an adjustment layer above the black video in the timeline and add a Gaussian blur effect to it. Set keyframes for the blurriness property to gradually blur the video content, enhancing the typing effect further as the text appears on the screen against the black background. You can record your screen with software like Photoshop to create the typing video, then position it above the adjustment layer and mask it to only reveal the text and background parts.
