When we first learn CSS, we cover a lot, from the basic syntax to the fundamentals like inheritance and the cascade, to all the properties and values. It’s a lot to take in, and often we focus on the syntax and properties/values since that’s what we really need at the start. We remember that there is the box model and a cascade, but we aren’t as worried about those as actually getting our simple layout to work! Because of that, we often end up with holes in our knowledge as we move forward, and that can lead to big messes in our CSS!
