5K for K-12 hosted by USF's David C. Anchin Center (2024)
The University of South Florida’s David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching hosted its 2nd race - the 5K for K-12 during Teacher Appreciation Week on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The event served as a fundraising opportunity to support the Anchin Center’s professional development activities.
The crowd of 250 Tampa Bay area teachers, students, community members, and education advocates ran through the beautiful Tampa campus of the University of South Florida in support of teachers and students!
One of the Anchin Center's foremost initiatives is to provide quality professional development to teachers across the state. Professional development opportunities highlight cutting edge best practices in literacy, STEM, online teaching, and equity. Their goal is to make these events free for practicing teachers through fundraising events like the 5k for K-12. All proceeds benefitted professional development opportunities for teachers.
