On December 7 and 8, 2013 Lexus put the IS F CCS-R to the test in one of the most extreme endurance races—the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.
The IS F CCS-R is the same vehicle Lexus used to compete in the Pikes Peak Internaltional Hill Climb just six months prior.
The goal was to prove what the Lexus team can do, and to test the durability (as well as flexibility) of track version of the Lexus IS F.
The CCS-R started life as a stock IS F, but it has been modified to reduce weight and integrate required safety equipment. The motor is the 450+ hp V8 that will be stock in the new RC F.
