No Limits Speaker Series: Kelly Younger - Storytelling
Kelly Younger is a professor, screenwriter, TV writer, playwright, story consultant, and Emmy-nominated producer. He is the writer of the Amazon feature film CANDY CANE LANE, starring Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross, which premiered in December 2023 and quickly became the biggest Amazon MGM Studios-produced title of all time domestically. He also serves as a member of the Disney Animation Story Trust, working on such films as Moana, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Frozen 2, Raya and the Last Dragon, Encanto, and others, and was part of the Pixar Animation Brain Trust on Cars 3, Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, Onward, and other forthcoming Pixar films. He is currently a tenured professor in the Departments of English and Theater at Loyola Marymount University where he leads writing workshops and teaches seminars in fairy tales.
Stories are a fundamental human art form that can help convey complex ideas in an accessible and relatable way. On August 9th, 2024 Kelly introduced Oceanit's team to the art and science of storytelling so that we can all appreciate this most fundamentally human skill. Kelly presented on how Storytelling is fundamental to human communication and how it's critical for everything from science to politics, engineering to innovation.
