How I use prototypes while designing!

One of my biggest design tricks to making really easy to use products is I test WHILE designing. See, it’s easy to do vi/ux design in isolation of the rest of the user flow. You design each screen separately and even if you’re using shared design components, there’s often some UX design oversights that crop up when moving from screen to screen.

That’s why once I’ve finished designing a screen in a flow, I rig up a clickable Figma prototype to the next screen and have ways to move back to it right away. Focusing on the navigation and UX of the flow makes for a really easy to use product.

Beyond that, this is the reason for Skeuomorphism.
Skeuomorphic design focuses on recreating real world elements which helps your designs easier to navigate because they’re more familiar. This is also why the rise of neumorphism has come about. It’s the minimal version of skeuomorphism in UI Design and it adds an additional layer of allusion to your designs to make the UI feel more modern while still being grounded in the experience of the real world.
