It may be challenging to worship and engage while your kids are with you. Here’s some encouragement from our Next Gen Pastor, Steven Ackley, his son with some help and creative ways to make the most of your time worshipping from home online each week.

Some helpful tips to engage your kids.
1) Model worship for your kids. Your kids will not engage more than you. Bring your bible, something to write with, and something to write on.
2) During music/singing, encourage your kids to bring an instrument to help them engage in worship, not just watch.
3) Encourage your kids to draw something specific during the message.
4) Bring toys into the message portion and encourage them to use them for a specific purpose during the message. Toss a ball with your child when they hear a word.
5) Ask questions. Ask your kids to find the passage during the message. Dialogue with what your kids thought
6) Guide and teach during the message. It’s okay to stop or pause the message to help your kids understand a point better. It may be distracting, but it will be pivotal for your kids’ discipleship.
7) Snacks are your friends. We bring drinks and our own snacks into worship. It’s okay for your kids to bring them, too.
8) Discipline and discipleship come from the same root word. Teach your kids how to pay attention and worship to what the Lord is showing them.
