In this video, we'll walk you through the process of merging the C and D drives on Windows 10 or Windows 11. Merging these drives can help you better manage your storage space and ensure that your computer runs more efficiently.

First, let's take a look at our current drives. If you open "This PC," you'll see the C drive and the D drive. In this example, we'll be merging the D drive into the C drive. Before proceeding, it's crucial to back up any important data on your D drive because the merging process will format the D drive, erasing all of its data. In our case, the D drive is already empty, showing 182 GB of free space that we want to add to the C drive.

To start, go to the search bar on your Windows taskbar and type in "partitions." Select the option that says "Create and format hard disk partitions." This will open the Disk Management tool where you can see all your drives. Locate the D drive, right-click on it, and select "Delete Volume." A warning will appear, reminding you that all data on the D drive will be deleted. Confirm this by clicking "Yes."

Now that the D drive is deleted, its space becomes unallocated. In our example, the unallocated space is 182 GB. The next step is to allocate this space to the C drive. Right-click on the C drive and select "Extend Volume." This option allows you to add the unallocated space to your C drive. Follow the prompts, which will guide you through the process of extending the volume. You'll need to specify the amount of space to add in megabytes. Once completed, the space from the D drive will be merged into the C drive, effectively combining the two.

This method is straightforward and helps you manage your disk space more effectively. If you encounter any issues or have questions during the process, feel free to leave a comment below. We hope this guide has been helpful. Thank you for watching, and we'll see you in the next video.
