In this video, I will give you a quick introduction to Zenarmor 1.14 and the BIG visual and functional improvements that have been made to the OPNsense dashboard to manage this NGFW product. The main goal of these improvements is to provide administrators with a standard and consistent way to manage their Zenarmor and OPNsense firewalls regardless of if they use Zenconsole, the cloud-based dashboard, or the version 1.14 dashboard built into OPNsense.
A brief overview of the updates included in this release are:
- Complete rewrite of the Zenarmor dashboard in OPNsense
- Allows for the creation of custom App and Web Control rules to provide you with granular control over your unique websites and app/ports you want to block on your network.
- The default deployment mode is now set to Routed L3 mode with emulated netmap drivers.
- New notification features have been built into OPNsense
- All of the Zenarmor settings options have been moved to the OPNSense sidebar to provide the user with a quick means to access them following a typical OPNsense style
