Pro Tools: How To Use Absolute and Relative Grid Modes | WinkSound

Pro Tools offers two grid modes when editing audio or MIDI clips. Absolute grid mode snaps audio or MIDI clips to the nearest beat or measure on the time line depending on the grid value chosen. Relative grid mode snaps clips to the time line relative to where they were originally positioned on the grid. This allows you to maintain their relative position in time through the session. In this tutorial PandaEngineer demonstrates the basic difference between editing in absolute and relative grid modes.
