Thanks to the fiber optic communication network laid along the highways, it became possible to implement the Acoustic Monitoring automated information system on the M-5 federal highway in the Samara region, which is now able to detect:
pedestrian traffic in conditions of limited visibility,
illegal pulling over to the roadside,
cases of ingress into cable ducts along the roads,
heavy vehicle traffic and construction works,
congestion and traffic speed.
In 2020, the integration of the Acoustic Monitoring system and the V2X platform made it possible to create a Smart Road model with fundamentally new driving scenarios for highly automated vehicles.
Acoustic Monitoring can be successfully used to control any extended objects: bridges, tunnels, pipelines, and airports.
