Contrary to popular belief, osteoporosis is an insidious problem that is not painful until a fracture occurs. After the fifties, bone density loss begins to increase. In these patients, there is no pain until a fracture occurs due to osteoporosis, such as a spine, wrist or hip fracture. Loss of bone density is a normal part of aging. However, in some people, bone resorption happens much faster than normal. Since we consider osteoporosis an age-related aging process, we cannot completely cure it. We can slow its course, though. First of all, prevention is important.
