Racha Yai (Thai. เกาะ ราชา ใหญ่) is one of the islands in the Andaman Sea in the southern part of the Kingdom of Thailand. It belongs to a group of 32 small islands surrounding the island of Phuket. Also known as "Paradise Island". It is a popular tourist destination.
The word "racha" came from the ancient language of Pali and is translated as "king, royal." Often these islands are called the word "Paradise" (Raya).
