Club Penguin Christmas Special - PART 1 (Dear Diary)
I bet nobody expected me to come back with a Club Penguin video of all things to end off 2021, huh? Originally, I was gonna do a Christmas CPMV as a final goodbye to my Club Penguin days, but then I got this idea and I kept going and going and it turned into a monstrosity of a 45+ minute long movie.
If you weren't around in 2012-2013 (which you probably weren't), you probably have no clue who these characters are. These guys are from my first official series on the channel, Dear Diary. Something I started less than two months before I turned nine. Despite how old and bad the series is, I still absolutely adore the characters and have since developed them into more proper OCs.
Originally, this was just a silly thing I made for myself to help with my depression and try to ground myself with how shit life has been. Something familiar and safe: Club Penguin. But then I realized I wanted to upload it! So, the pacing may not be great, especially at first. I wrote a couple scenes, then filmed, then wrote a couple more, then filmed, and so on. Not very polished, scenes could probably use some editing, and a lot of plot points I figured out on the way, so it might be a little confusing, but that's okay! I had fun :)
A big part of this for me was bringing back the humor and dialogue I used in my old series. It's silly and cringey but very comforting and homely to me. As I went on, I got more serious with it because like I said, I expected nothing out of this at first, so the beginning is a bit more MEH, I'll admit.
First part is mostly about Riley and Caitlyn. Part 2 goes more into the others and the DRAMA AHAHAHA. This little movie WILL have a TRIGGER WARNING for familial conflict, relationship conflict, and emotional abuse from parents. Rating is probably PG-13 just for the fighting with family moments. It would be PG otherwise, however.
I'd like to revamp either Dear Diary or Celestial Nightmare, the latter being a reboot of Dear Diary I made in 2015 and didn't upload until 2017 because the laptop I made it on got a nasty virus. Dear Diary is about them having a band. Celestial Nightmare ( • Club Penguin: Celestial Nightmare ☾ [... ) is about them exploring the paranormal and a more complex plot I had in the works. Celestial Nightmare I recommend as I'm still proud of it to this day and was sad when it got so little attention. Dear Diary... I do NOT recommend lol. But it's there if you wanna cringe and/or laugh.
Entire movie so far is 34 minutes, but I'm not sure when I'll upload the next part. We'll just have to see! I don't wanna wait too long, though, because I know I'll lose interest and probably never finish. glances at my old, abandoned series
(Between you and me, my favorite character is probably Jack. Love that guy.)
(Also, the beginning of this was hell to edit because my recorder was acting up and cutting bits out so sometimes text bubbles would entirely disappear and I'd have to create a psuedo text bubble, which actually blends in perfectly thanks to my efforts, but still. I couldn't do anything about people walking being cut out, sadly.)
