The title itself is intriguing enough: "This Is Us." The “Us” in this case is five people who share the same birthday and much more yet to be revealed: Mandy Moore is Rebecca, Milo Ventimiglia is Jack and Sterling K. Brown is Randall. The cast also includes Ron Cephas Jones as William, Chrissy Metz as Kate, Chris Sullivan as Toby, Justin Hartley as Kevin and Susan Kelechi Watson as Beth.

Considered an ensemble dramedy, the show has been called “beautiful” by reviewers and insider buzz rates it as possibly “the next huge hit.” The trailer alone has gotten millions of hits thus far and you can watch it here.

Ron talked to me at the NBC Universal Summer 2016 TCA Press Tour and shared his joy about being part of the cast. He also reiterated why the show may find a place in our hearts. In this conversation he urges us to start talking—and listening—to each other again, something that could aid us not only in our personal and professional relationships, but in politics as well.

He’s excited to be part of the ensemble, especially with a role that will feature him regularly. We’ve seen him in a host of television outings such as "The Blacklist" and in nine episodes of "Mr. Robot." Ron has also appeared in films and brings a strong theatrical resume to his role on This Is Us. It’s wonderful to hear him share his joy about working on such an exciting new project.
