Is the mandrake in "Harry Potter" a real plant?
Is the plant whose scream can be deadly just a figment of J.K. Rowling's imagination or an ancient legend? There have been many myths surrounding the mandrake. Perhaps it's because this plant (which does indeed exist) has a root that resembles a human figure. This unusual resemblance sparked curiosity and gave rise to myths, attributing "divine" and "devilish" properties to the plant itself.
However, it is strongly advised not to consume mandrake as food. But using it as an element in creating a magical wizarding world is perfectly fine!
