The Magill Lecture in Science, Technology, and the Arts explores the dynamic intersections among these fields, made possible through the generosity of Dr. Frank N. Magill. The lecture series aims to broaden the perspectives of engineering students by promoting the integration of the Humanities into their studies. Dr. Magill was a passionate advocate for exposing students of engineering and science to the rich world of the arts and humanities. This ongoing series celebrates the innovators who bridge the divide between these disciplines, fostering a holistic approach to education that embraces both technical and humanistic insights.

This year’s lecturer is Santiago Calatrava, an acclaimed Spanish architect and structural engineer.

Calatrava is known for many iconic projects around the world, including the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, a notable NYC landmark. In this lecture, he presents his journey as both an architect and engineer, from his beginnings to the present, spanning over 40 years of work.
