Chrome downloads are getting more secure in 2023, by blocking insecure HTTP downloads
Currently in Google Chrome Canary 111, Google is testing a "Block insecure downloads" experimental flag, that enables insecure download blocking. This shows a ‘blocked’ message if the user attempts to download a file over an insecure HTTP connection, either directly or via an insecure redirect.
