Lowering Asterisk Registration Rates with Mid-Registrar
VoIP setups with a majority of subscribers using mobile devices with high registration rates can put a lot of strain or even become performance killers for advanced PBX systems such as Asterisk. By adding a mid-registrar layer capable of converting the high-rate incoming traffic into a low-rate variant (by changing the registration lifetime /expiry time), we can both improve the scalability and reduce the complexity of such platforms. The presentation will cover the scenario description, common pitfalls and possible ways of overcoming them, as well as a live demo using the latest open-source software available.
