Wondering why sorghum looks like corn, but it's part of a grass-fed diet for cows? All grass-milk farms will harvest their hays and haylages before they reach the seed stage. They are harvesting the leaves and stalks and fermenting as a way to preserve them. Since cattle can digest these cellulose portions they can gain more nutrition from the stems and leaves of a plant in a way that humans can't.
