Feathers are beautiful treasures from nature that can be used in artwork from mixed media, journals, and slow stitching projects. But, did you know that in the USA, not all feathers are allowed to be gathered and collected?

If you do find a feather that qualifies for a collection or that you want to use in your artwork, be sure to clean it properly. Feathers can contain parasites, bacteria, and other debris. In today's video, I show a method to remove parasites, sanitize the feather, clean, dry, and shape the feather.
