Wanna learn how to find a stud in the wall?

Look, there are several different methods of finding studs. But some of them are downright frustrating.

The first method is to knock on the wall with your knuckle. Once you hear a different pitch sound you can be somewhat sure you've found a stud.

Measure over 16 or 24 inches (depending on the age of your home) and you'll likely find another stud.

The issue with this is that not all walls are built with studs exactly 16 inches on center. And doing this in a bathroom can be a little tricky since there are pipes in walls.

The last thing you want to do is hammer a nail in a waste pipe!!

Yucky stuff.

The second method is to use a strong magnet (think hard drive magnet) to find nails or screws. Once you find the nail/screw you can measure over 16 inches to find the next stud.

This isn't a bad way of finding studs but there are two things to consider: 1) not all nails/screws are exactly on center and 2) your magnet may have found a metal protector plate instead of a screw.

A third method is to use a stud finder. And that's what inspired me to make this video. Research shows the Franklin Sensor to be one of the best stud finders on the market.

So I bought one and tested it. You'll see why I love this tool and why you might too!!
