Summer of 1942. Sailors of the Black Sea Fleet Ivan Nikulin and Vasily Klevtsov return to their crews. Other sailors join them on the train. Suddenly, the path behind the echelon is blocked by a fascist landing. The Red Navy men give a decisive rebuff, but forced to follow their course further, organize a partisan detachment led by Ivan Nikulin — and continue the heroic path to the Black Sea. The film is based on a real fact from the publication of the newspaper "Red Fleet".
