In Chile and Brazil, design students are helping farmers better market their products to the public.
Under WIPO’s Young Designers Program, university students team up with agricultural producers to jointly develop fresh ideas to better connect their products with consumers and enhance their marketing strategies.
“The project took the students out of the classroom and brought them into the real world. We talk a lot about doing projects for the real world, not just making design for markets, or cosmetic design, but design for the real world”, said one of the professors who coordinated the project.
These collaborations are transforming the ways local products are presented in the market, and have for example resulted in innovative designs and marketing strategies for brands like Guaraná de Maués in Brazil and Sidra de Punucapa in Chile.
